Aggression in Our Youngsters

Many children and teens come to school angry at the world. They come to school with the intention of being aggressive. Many come to school with intent of controlling the learning environment with what they know to be inappropriate behavior. In their anger, these youngsters seek to destroy because of their anger and with their anger.

Anger is being upset with a passion. It is rage and animosity. Aggression is acting out in a rowdy or offensive manner. Aggressive youngsters often possess a fighting instinct. They want to fight the world: other youngsters, teachers, office staff, the lunch lady, or even the bus driver. Aggression in youngsters can be overcome when there is order and balance in protocol. Alternately, the child could be experiencing a chemical imbalance due to improper diet and the intake of unhealthy foods. Other reasons for a child’s aggression could be guilt, deep seeded anger, fear, feelings of betrayal, or even insecurity.
